Situation Rehearsal: Karina Peisajovich and Diego Bianchi

This project experiments with two works living together in a single space: an installation/performance by Diego Bianchi, Ocasionalismo (Occasionalism), and a light intervention by Karina Peisajovich, Lo que está ahogado en la luz es el eco de lo que la noche ha sumergido (What is drowned in light is the echo of what the night has submerged).

Between indifference and coupling, friction and autonomy, both works share the space at the Universidad Di Tella exhibition room and they essay a tense phenomenological relationship between them and with the viewer.

Lo que está ahogado en la luz es el eco de lo que la noche ha sumergido (What is drowned in light is the echo of what the night has submerged), the work posed by Peisajovich, is a temporal gradation of light that goes from plenty of light to plenty of darkness. For the realization of this project Peisajovich altered the electrical system and the existing assortment of lighting devices in the exhibition room, changing their function and orientation. Instead of directing light to the works, the lights are directed to the viewer, generating states of blindness and dazzlement.
The gradation of light alters the viewer’s sensory experience and at the same time incites him to ask himself about the construction of images revealed in space.
